![]() ![]() That single fact makes this place the most disturbing place I’ve been to in this game. That solitary cow is perched in the most unlikely place for a normal cow to be, and the most depressing spot for a human to stand. If this theory is right, and these are people, then that cow-man-person is standing on the edge of a cliff, possibly contemplating suicide in order to end all the misfortunate that they’re having to face in life. And, this is where I’m going to get a little dark on you. And the big stable is still closed, even if we can still care there, and we haven’t heard anything about when new horses will be added to the stalls above the farm.Īnd then there’s still that cow on the cliff side. Not to mention, the barns around the farm are still empty, when the rest of the barns in the Harvest Counties now have cows in them, or are filled with supplies. Even if they’re just a stand in with no quest lines, someone should have been put there. That’s something that should have been added one or two updates after the area was released, not months later. And after five, going on six, months now of having the Harvest Counties, there should be someone there. But, where are they? The only living things we’ve seen in the area are the cows and sheep and that weird spider pig during Halloween. So, why not Dew Farm? They have a back story set up. Ed’s still walking around outside his inn, and the Jarlsson’s seem pretty happy over there on Paddock Island. Even if we haven’t had anything to do with them yet, or haven’t had much, there are still people there. Well, consider the other farms we’ve met in the Harvest Counties. Being economically unfortunate isn’t the same as being cursed. Ok, so what? The Dews were having some rough luck, that doesn’t really strike me as being cursed. So, an already broke family moved to a very un-terraform-able location like the Forgotten Fields, and threw themselves into even more debt by having to bring more wood into the area with little to no trees suitable for use to build their new abode. Not to mention, this place is a plain now, a rocky plain. You’d need to be pretty desperate to move to a place called the Forgotten Fields. Not the Everwind Fields, or the Fields of Gold, or Aideen forbid Golden Hills or Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur! No, the Forgotten Fields. Now, I don’t know where they moved from exactly on the other side of Jorvik, but apparently the Forgotten Fields seemed like a good place to move to. Way to hit someone when they’re down on their luck. Not only did they lose all of their livestock, but the entire country of Jorvik nicknamed them the Unfortunate Dews. ![]() What do we know about the Dew Family? Well, according to their map description, that they’re pretty unlucky. Fighting a giant evil squid? Child’s play! So, let’s see how possible this could be. Surviving a transformation into a frog and a toy horse? That’s nothing for a Soul Rider. I know, crazy right? Well, we’ve probably seen crazier than that. I mean, I’m no bovine expert, but I can tell you that most cows, even mountain cows, avoid being this close to edges.Īnd then, I just had this wild thought: What if the Dew Family is the livestock? So, here’s this cow, just chillin’ on the side of this cliff. It’s got depressing music and cobwebs hanging from everything, not to mention weeds growing from everywhere.Īnyway way! I was riding around, and I found this cow. Now, I haven’t played through all of the original Star Stable games, but from what I understand, this is an entirely new addition to the map. No, the Dew Farm is creepy because we don’t know what happened to it exactly, and the place just feels depressing. ![]() Not creepy like Scarecrow Hill or the Dark Core Oil Platform. If you haven’t been to Dew Farm, then let me tell you, it’s creepy. Also, I was in a kinda creepy mood for this too, so, be warned. She’s kinda got a depressing backstory, and I figured the Dew Farm would be the best place to film for her then. So, late one night, I was out recording with my horse, Addie. Well, I suppose while my Lore of Jorvik video is still in the works, I should probably make another post to tide y'all over. ![]()
